Experienced Finance Controller – Insurance Sector

About the role

We are seeking an Experienced Finance Controller to join a Luxembourg‑based insurance group with operations across several countries. The role supports the CFO in delivering accurate financial reporting, driving month‑end close processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse general ledger accounts, perform journal entries, reconciliations, accruals and close activities on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Provide in‑depth variance analysis and performance commentary for internal and external reports, including regulator and Statec filings.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual forecast, budgeting process and integration of newly acquired portfolios.
• Oversee outsourced accounting services, ensuring timely and accurate project completion and robust control procedures.
• Support the CFO in preparing Board of Directors packs and audit facilitation.
• Contribute to process‑improvement initiatives and assist with audit preparation.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar finance or accounting reporting role.
• Experience in insurance or financial services is preferred.
• Fluent in English; good level of French is expected.
• Strong ethical standards, meticulous attention to detail and ability to work both independently and as a team player.
