Engineering Manager – Delivery & Operations

About the role

SearchApi is looking for an Engineering Manager to own end‑to‑end delivery, freeing the founder from day‑to‑day operational loops. You will run cadences, track active projects, surface risk early, and act as the first escalation point when incidents occur.

Key responsibilities

• Run planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives that are lightweight and effective.
• Maintain visibility of every active project, surface risks before they become fires, and own delivery metrics such as cycle time, review latency, and reliability.
• Lead incident response, coordinate teams, and conduct blameless post‑mortems that drive real change.
• Grow the team through 1:1 coaching, hiring, and maintaining high‑bar job descriptions and scorecards.
• Ensure the team ships high‑quality products on time, while minimizing unnecessary bureaucracy.

Required profile

• Proven track record of delivering measurable delivery improvements.
• Technical depth sufficient to read plans or PRs and earn engineers’ trust.
• Comfort making unpopular decisions and communicating them clearly.
• Ability to interpret noisy small‑team metrics and act with sound judgment.
