Embedded Software Engineer – Luxembourg (Junior to Principal)

About the role

Join a high‑autonomy start‑up team within a leading global satellite company to design, implement and optimise low‑level embedded software for space‑grade payload hardware. The position is open to engineers at all seniority levels, from junior to principal, and will be based in Luxembourg.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain low‑level embedded software for satellite payloads using Linux, bootloaders and C++.
• Integrate software with hardware components and perform hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing to resolve cross‑domain issues.
• Optimise code for real‑time performance, low power consumption, fault tolerance and radiation resilience.
• Ensure seamless interfacing with satellite bus systems and support high‑throughput data processing.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to live and work in Luxembourg.
• Ability to work in a start‑up environment while collaborating with experienced technical leadership.
• Willingness to contribute to the foundational build‑out of a new engineering team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C++, Linux and bootloaders.
• Experience with RTOS, bare‑metal programming and low‑level hardware interfaces.
• Familiarity with FPGA integration, signal processing and telemetry protocols.
• Bonus: programming in Rust, fault detection/recovery mechanisms.
