Electronics Manufacturing Technician - PCBA & Harness (High‑Reliability / Aerospace)

About the role

The Electronics Manufacturing Technician will work on the assembly, rework and inspection of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) and cable harnesses for satellite and ground systems that require high‑reliability and aerospace‑grade quality. The role covers the full manufacturing lifecycle, from line setup to final verification, while adhering to strict IPC standards and ESD controls.

Key responsibilities

• Operate SMT production equipment such as solder paste printers, pick‑and‑place machines and reflow ovens.
• Set up and change over SMT lines, perform basic process control and both surface‑mount and through‑hole assembly.
• Conduct manual soldering, component replacement and fine‑pitch rework following IPC‑7711/7721.
• Support functional testing, basic electrical verification and debugging of PCBA.
• Assemble cable harnesses, including crimping, soldering and connector installation, according to schematics and IPC/WHMA‑A‑620.
• Perform visual inspection of PCBA and harnesses, record results and report non‑conformances.
• Maintain traceability in MES/ERP systems and follow controlled work instructions.
• Support engineering teams during testing, troubleshooting and low‑volume prototype builds.
• Execute PCB cleaning and conformal coating processes to meet high‑reliability cleanliness requirements.

Required profile

• Technical education in electronics, electrical engineering, mechatronics or a related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• 2–5+ years of practical experience in electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly and/or harness production.
• Familiarity with aerospace or high‑reliability environments and relevant IPC standards.

Required skills

• SMT equipment operation (solder paste printing, pick‑and‑place, reflow).
• Manual soldering and fine‑pitch component rework (IPC‑7711/7721).
• PCB visual inspection and functional testing.
• Cable harness assembly, crimping, soldering and connector installation (IPC/WHMA‑A‑620).
• MES/ERP documentation and traceability recording.
• ESD control and clean‑room handling.
• Conformal coating application and PCB cleaning procedures.
