Senior Payload Test Engineer – meoSphere

About the role

The Senior Payload Test Engineer will lead the assembly, integration, functional verification, and environmental qualification of satellite payloads for the meoSphere constellation. Working closely with systems engineering, design, and manufacturing teams, the role ensures payloads meet performance, quality, and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of payload units, subsystems, and harnesses according to drawings, ICDs, and work instructions.
• Develop and execute AIT plans, test procedures, and environmental qualification campaigns, coordinating test equipment and facilities.
• Conduct functional, performance, and end‑to‑end link tests, analyze telemetry and test data, and generate test and non‑conformance reports.
• Support integration of payloads onto the spacecraft platform, including interface checks, functional verification, and configuration management.

Required profile

• Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in hardware test environments, preferably with satellite payload hardware.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Fluency in English; additional European language is a plus.

Required skills

• Knowledge of RF and digital payload architectures such as repeaters, transponders, active antennas, processors and amplifiers.
• Hands‑on experience with lab and test equipment: oscilloscopes, power supplies, RF instruments, data loggers and EGSE.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and test procedures.
• Experience with environmental test facilities including thermal vacuum chambers, vibration tables, EMC chambers and RF ranges.
