Doctoral Researcher in Insolvency Law (PhD)

About the role

The University of Luxembourg seeks a doctoral researcher to work under the supervision of Professor Thomas Mastrullo. The candidate will develop a PhD thesis on insolvency law or company law with a comparative, international or European focus, written in French or English.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct original research and write a doctoral dissertation on a selected legal topic.
• Participate in a multidisciplinary research group covering insolvency, company, banking and financial law.
• Teach small‑group classes or tutorials for 1–3 hours per week.
• Collaborate with other researchers and possibly a joint supervisor from another university.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in business law, private international law or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated interest in business law, EU law and international law.
• At least B2‑level proficiency in the language of the thesis (French or English).
