DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer to own the full stack that supports our engineering organisation, from physical rack layouts to Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines and MLOps platforms. The role is hands‑on, combining architecture design with implementation, operation and continuous improvement of our defence‑grade autonomous‑systems infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design the complete IT architecture, including service topology, network segmentation, trust zones, rack layouts, power, cooling and cabling.
• Manage hardware lifecycle from specification and procurement to deployment, maintenance and decommissioning, ensuring capacity aligns with engineering growth.
• Size, deploy and operate on‑prem and hybrid compute environments, including GPU clusters for ML training, tiered storage for telemetry data, and local LLM deployment.
• Administer self‑hosted development platforms such as GitLab, artefact repositories, SAST scanners and documentation tools, ensuring high availability, backup and upgrades.
• Build and maintain the MLOps stack: experiment tracking, model registries, dataset versioning, GPU‑scheduled training orchestration and model serving pipelines.
• Design, operate and secure the container platform using Docker, private registries and Kubernetes (RBAC, network policies, resource quotas, persistent storage, ingress).
• Implement GitOps‑driven delivery with Helm/Kustomize and manage CI/CD pipeline architecture.
