DevOps Developer – Cloud & Developer Tools

About the role

Sopra Steria is looking for a DevOps Developer to join a multidisciplinary team that builds and maintains cloud development platforms, developer tooling, and development environments across the organisation. You will leverage AWS, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD automation, and AI‑powered development tools to drive innovation while ensuring reliability, security, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve cloud‑based services and developer tools using Python and TypeScript.
• Write clean, reusable code and own its quality through peer reviews and automated testing.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, automating deployment, configuration, monitoring, and operational processes.
• Promote Infrastructure as Code practices with Terraform and AWS CDK to ensure consistency and scalability.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, system administrators, and security specialists in Agile ceremonies.
• Create and keep technical documentation, operational procedures, and development guidelines up to date.
• Provide support and knowledge‑transfer to platform users.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, DevOps, or cloud engineering.
• Proven experience working in Agile teams.
• Experience supporting cloud or developer platforms is a plus.

Required skills

• AWS (including certifications, if any).
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, AWS CDK.
• Git and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Python and TypeScript programming.
• AI‑powered developer tools such as Amazon Q, Kiro, Claude or similar.
• Familiarity with VS Code and IntelliJ.
• Knowledge of IT security principles and ITIL/IT Service Management practices.
