Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Engineer

About the role

EDAN Luxembourg is seeking a seasoned Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Engineer to join a leading client in Luxembourg. The role focuses on designing, implementing and maintaining enterprise‑wide DLP solutions across endpoint, network and cloud environments while collaborating with security and infrastructure teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and manage DLP platforms on endpoints, network gateways and cloud services.
• Define, tune and optimise DLP policies to maximise detection accuracy and minimise false positives.
• Monitor, investigate and resolve DLP alerts and incidents, supporting incident response activities.
• Work closely with Blue‑Team, Threat Detection & Response and infrastructure teams to strengthen overall data security.
• Document technical procedures, operational guidelines and maintain up‑to‑date security documentation.
• Automate routine tasks and integrate DLP solutions with SIEM, ITSM and other security tooling.
• Ensure DLP controls align with corporate security policies, compliance requirements and business objectives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Loss Prevention, Data Security or Cyber‑Security engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise DLP solutions (endpoint, network, cloud).
• Fluent French and strong English communication skills.
• Experience working in a Blue‑Team or Security Operations centre, preferably in banking or financial services.

Required skills

• DLP detection techniques: Regex, Fingerprinting, EDM/IDM, Machine‑Learning classification.
• Microsoft 365 and other cloud collaboration platforms.
• Networking concepts (Layer 4‑7, HTTP(S), SMTP, TLS inspection, firewalls, ICAP, Web Security Gateway).
• SaaS security, Shadow IT, CASB, SIEM and ITSM platforms.
• Data governance: classification, labeling, data‑lifecycle management.
• Scripting/automation: PowerShell, Python, REST APIs, SIEM integrations.
