Cost Management Team Leader – Finance

About the role

Lead the bank’s cost management framework, ensuring effective financial steering of operating expenses, investment spending, and strategic initiatives across all business units. Act as a trusted finance partner to senior management, providing insightful analysis and challenging spending decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously enhance the cost management framework, policies and governance.
• Lead budget and forecasting processes for operating expenses and investment spending.
• Monitor cost performance against budgets, identify risks and opportunities, and drive corrective actions.
• Develop and evolve the cost allocation framework to support profitability analysis, pricing decisions and strategic resource allocation.
• Support executive management, the CFO and governance bodies in evaluating strategic projects, transformation initiatives, investments and acquisitions.
• Build strong relationships with Finance, COO, Risk, HR, CEO Office and Business Lines to align financial priorities.
• Organise and lead periodic cost review meetings with ExCo members and senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading cost controlling, planning, analysis and reporting teams in a banking or financial services environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to challenge business assumptions and resource allocation decisions.
• Excellent communication skills to influence senior executives and drive a cost‑conscious culture.
