Business Intelligence Engineer – Retail Supply Chain Initiative

About the role
The Retail Supply Chain Initiatives (RSI) team is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to design, develop and automate analytical models and data pipelines that support EU retail supply‑chain decision‑making. The role can be based in either London or Luxembourg and works in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment where ambiguity is common and data‑driven insights drive operational impact.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain data models, ETL pipelines and automated reporting solutions for supply‑chain analytics.
- Develop and manage dashboards and visualisations using QuickSight or Tableau to surface KPIs and operational insights.
- Perform deep‑dive root‑cause analyses on buying‑system performance, ordering defects and efficiency gaps.
- Translate complex business questions into structured analytical frameworks and deliver actionable recommendations.
- Partner with program managers, operations and technical teams to identify improvement opportunities and drive data‑driven changes.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritising effectively in a fast‑moving environment.
Required profile
- Strong data‑mining, statistical modelling and quantitative analysis capabilities.
- Proven experience building end‑to‑end analytical solutions from concept to production.
- Ability to work independently in ambiguous situations, structure undefined problems and drive projects to completion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
- Self‑starter with a hands‑on approach, capable of supporting several initiatives simultaneously.
Required skills
- Experience with Amazon Redshift, Oracle or NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency in data visualisation tools such as Tableau and Amazon QuickSight.
- Hands‑on experience building ETL pipelines and data models.
- Knowledge of data‑mining, statistical modelling and quantitative analysis techniques.
