Principal Scientist – Computational Biology/ML (Genomics)

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Computational Scientist to translate foundation models into real‑world discovery workflows. You will provide scientific leadership across model evaluation and applied use cases, ensuring relevance to drug development and translational research.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a key scientific partner to the research team and mentor junior colleagues.
• Collaborate with Product and Business Development to turn cutting‑edge biology and ML into customer‑focused deliverables.
• Lead small teams toward defined roadmaps, moving quickly from prototype to experiment to insight.

Required profile

• PhD in Computational Biology, Machine Learning, Bioinformatics or related field with 2+ years industry experience, OR MSc with 5+ years industry experience applying ML to genomics.
• Strong understanding of ML/AI methods for biological data (e.g., transformers, VAEs, diffusion models, classical ML).
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex science for technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch.
• Proficiency with transformer architectures, variational autoencoders, and diffusion models.
