Business Development Manager – Glass Facades (DACH)

About the role

Guardian Glass, a global leader in architectural glass solutions, is looking for a Business Development Manager to grow its glass façade business across the DACH region. You will work closely with developers, architects and façade consultants to influence specifications and position Guardian as the preferred partner.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor market intelligence and identify key client accounts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
• Develop a priority plan to expand the business network while maintaining existing relationships.
• Identify early‑stage construction projects, gather stakeholder information and assess project scope.
• Collaborate with architects and façade consultants to qualify projects and draft glass specifications.
• Coordinate with the technical department to support specification development, sample delivery and technical queries.
• Manage the exchange of drawings and specifications, ensuring designs are ready for the bidding phase.
• Follow up throughout the bidding process together with the sales team to secure contracts.

Required profile

• Background in business, engineering, architecture or related experience.
• Proven B2B sales experience, preferably in building‑material or façade sectors.
• Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Project management, business development and economic decision‑making abilities.
• Self‑starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work cross‑functionally.
• Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written.

Required skills

• Knowledge of coated glass products and aluminium façade systems.
• Ability to review architectural plans and details.
• Experience with the specification process from inception to completion.
