Business Analyst – Data & Analytics (Economics)

About the role

As a Business Analyst you will support the Economics Department of a European public bank, managing, analysing and reporting macro‑economic and sovereign‑risk data. You will ensure data consistency, quality and availability for internal analysis and publications, working at the intersection of economics, data analytics and financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update databases containing macro‑economic and sovereign‑risk indicators.
• Curate, clean, validate and manage datasets from international institutions, public sources and licensed providers.
• Develop, implement and maintain SQL queries, database views and data‑processing scripts.
• Automate data ingestion, transformation and validation using Python and SQL.
• Produce and maintain reports and dashboards, primarily with Power BI and Excel.
• Support data‑quality initiatives and define common indicators and metadata.
• Respond to internal data requests and coordinate across services.

Required profile

• University degree in Business, Engineering, Information Science or related field.
• Proven experience in data analysis within a financial services institution.
• Strong understanding of macro‑economic and financial data, including sovereign‑risk concepts.
• Excellent written and spoken English and strong analytical thinking.
