Associate or Assistant Professor in Clinical Microbiology

About the role

The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine at the University of Luxembourg seeks an Associate Professor or Assistant Professor to lead innovative teaching and research in clinical microbiology. The position focuses on bachelor‑level and specialised medical programmes, integrating cutting‑edge digital tools and clinical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate clinical microbiology curricula across medicine and health‑related programmes.
• Implement digital microbiology platforms, virtual labs, simulation‑based training and case‑based learning.
• Collaborate with faculty, clinical partners and research centres to ensure an integrated learning experience.
• Lead and expand research activities in infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, hygiene, microbiome science, data‑driven health sciences and digital medicine.

Required profile

• Internationally recognised research record in microbiology or related fields.
• Medical background with relevant clinical experience in microbiology.
• Strong commitment to linking clinical practice with education and research.
