Associate LER Specialist – Law Enforcement Response

About the role

Amazon’s Law Enforcement Response (LER) team is seeking an Associate Specialist to act as a critical bridge between global law‑enforcement agencies and Amazon’s security and privacy commitments. This full‑time, onsite position focuses on handling requests from European and U.S. authorities, balancing urgent priorities while safeguarding customer data.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and process law‑enforcement requests (subpoenas, search warrants) with strict adherence to legal and Amazon policy requirements.
• Utilize internal tools and systems to compile, analyze, and deliver accurate information while maintaining confidentiality.
• Identify patterns and trends to improve operational efficiency and contribute to policy and process enhancements.
• Communicate professionally with law‑enforcement personnel, Amazon teams, and other stakeholders, ensuring discretion at all times.
• Rotate on‑call duties every 3‑4 weeks, responding to emergency requests during weekdays (07:00‑16:00 CET) and shared EU/US holidays.
• Handle exposure to sensitive or graphic content in compliance with privacy standards.

Required profile

• Fluent in spoken, written, and read German.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Understanding of AI ethical considerations in legal contexts (confidentiality, accuracy, bias prevention).
• Strong judgment, ability to manage multiple priorities, and meticulous attention to detail.
• High cultural awareness and diplomatic communication skills.
