AOCS Engineer – 6‑Month Contract (High Chance of Extension)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Attitude and Orbit Control System (AOCS) Engineer to join a high‑profile space programme based in Luxembourg. The role is a six‑month contract with a strong possibility of extension and requires an immediate start.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop AOCS subsystems, including hardware and software components.
• Plan, execute and analyse test campaigns and validation activities for attitude, orbit and control algorithms.
• Perform orbital mechanics analyses and assess space‑environment effects on the spacecraft.
• Develop models and simulations using MATLAB/Simulink and STK or equivalent tools.
• Implement embedded software in C/C++ and conduct HIL/PIL testing.
• Manage system requirements, traceability and documentation, using tools such as DOORS.

Required profile

• Proven experience in AOCS design, testing and validation.
• Strong knowledge of orbital mechanics and space environment.
• EU residency with valid work rights.
• Ability to work on‑site in Luxembourg and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• AOCS subsystem design and validation.
• Orbital mechanics and space‑environment analysis.
• MATLAB/Simulink, STK (or similar).
• C/C++ embedded programming.
• Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) and Processor‑in‑the‑Loop (PIL) testing.
• Systems engineering and requirements management (DOORS preferred).
• Experience with launch and in‑orbit operations is a plus.
