AML Compliance Analyst, Suspicious Activity Monitoring

About the role

We are seeking an AML Compliance Analyst to join the Suspicious Activity Monitoring (SAM) team within Amazon’s Regulated and Exploratory Transaction Trust (RETT) program. In this role you will investigate complex money‑laundering cases, prepare regulatory filings and collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure robust AML controls across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Execute casework and projects in line with internal policies, SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and submit internal and external AML reports, including Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs).
• Manage daily escalation queues, handling complex or exception cases from business and operations teams.
• Identify, escalate and address policy and program exceptions in accordance with risk‑management parameters.
• Collaborate with program, process, technology, legal and compliance teams to develop and adjust policies, procedures and controls.
• Drive process‑improvement initiatives and implement best practices for AML monitoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Compliance, Economics, Accounting or a related field.
• Working knowledge of AML regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act, EU AML Directives and OFAC sanctions.
• Minimum 2 years of AML or sanctions risk‑management experience; 3‑5 years preferred.
• Experience in financial services, payments or e‑commerce environments.
• Strong analytical and independent decision‑making abilities.
• Fluent English (B2+ level).
