Accountant – Fixed-term (Maternity Cover)

About the role

Zitro, a global leader in the gaming industry, is looking for a proactive Accountant to cover a maternity leave for one year. This fixed‑term position offers the chance to work in an international, multicultural environment based in Luxembourg and to contribute to the finance team’s daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Process, review, and accurately record supplier invoices in the accounting system.
• Prepare and post accrual entries to ensure precise financial reporting.
• Manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping of bank transactions and perform reconciliations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments to support business operations.
• Contribute to the monthly financial close, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
• Maintain organized and compliant accounting records and documentation.
• Support the annual external audit by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of monthly VAT returns alongside senior accountants and external advisors.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in an accounting or administration department.
• Knowledge of Lux GAAP is a plus.
• Fluent in Spanish and/or English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of Business Central ERP.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Understanding of Lux GAAP (considered a plus).
