Senior Software Engineer – Risk Management Applications

About the role

We are seeking a senior software engineer to join the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg, focusing on the maintenance and evolution of risk‑management applications, especially those used for derivatives valuation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and support risk‑management applications, with emphasis on derivatives valuation systems.
• Monitor system health, batch jobs, application servers and databases.
• Implement, test and optimise batch processing and scheduling.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for operational automation.
• Provide technical support for internally developed tools and packages.
• Manage code versioning and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and Azure DevOps.
• Participate in migration from Sybase to Microsoft SQL Server.
• Support data‑virtualisation and reporting solutions such as Denodo and Business Objects.
• Ensure availability and operation of the IT infrastructure supporting financial risk applications.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions.

Required profile

• At least 6 years of software engineering or architecture experience.
• Minimum 7 years supporting risk‑management applications in a banking environment.
• 3 + years experience with banking reporting solutions.
• Strong knowledge of risk‑management systems, especially derivatives‑related applications.
• Proven ability to create technical and business dashboards using Splunk.
• Excellent communication skills in English and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
