Senior Java Software Engineer

About the role

Our client in Luxembourg is looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer to strengthen the team responsible for partner connectivity applications. You will maintain and evolve existing platforms while contributing to new, modernisation projects in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and resolve complex bugs using logs and monitoring tools.
• Manage version upgrades and address obsolescence issues, prioritising tasks autonomously.
• Identify and implement improvements to application architecture, performance and observability.
• Apply security best practices, including Security‑by‑Design and vulnerability management throughout the development lifecycle.
• Support modernisation and redesign initiatives, ensuring seamless integration with web and mobile interfaces.
• Produce technical documentation and assist with test automation for reliable production deployments.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong analytical abilities to assess code quality, architecture and operational risks.
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on clean code, error handling and test coverage.
• Fluent in both French and English, written and spoken.

• Java 17+
• Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Security)
• MS SQL databases
• Observability tools such as OpenTelemetry and the ELK stack
• OpenShift container platform
• GitLab CI/CD within a DevOps environment
