Senior Data Scientist – Retail Media & eCommerce

About the role

VML Luxembourg is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join its Data Services team. You will lead research and enablement around emerging retail media, e‑commerce, and marketplace data sources, turning them into actionable analytics and decision models that enhance content delivery and media management workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Research, evaluate, and onboard new first‑party and third‑party data sets and APIs, assessing feasibility, granularity, privacy constraints, refresh cadence, and cost/value.
• Develop scalable use cases that convert raw data into analytics, decision models, and tool logic for improved workflow efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with BI Engineering and Data Delivery teams to integrate data solutions into existing platforms.
• Engage directly with clients, building trust, explaining methodologies, and driving adoption of data‑driven solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a data scientist, preferably in retail media, e‑commerce, or marketplace environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate data quality, privacy, and business impact.
• Excellent communication skills for client‑facing interactions and cross‑functional collaboration.
