Postdoctoral Researcher in Cryptography and Privacy

About the role

The University of Luxembourg seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow to advance research in cryptography and privacy. The position combines high‑impact research, teaching, and supervision within the CryptoLux Group led by Prof. Alex Biryukov.

Key responsibilities

• Lead high‑impact research projects in symmetric, lightweight, post‑quantum, and privacy‑enhancing cryptography.
• Deliver teaching activities at bachelor, master and PhD levels (up to 90 hours per year).
• Supervise PhD and MSc students on a daily basis.
• Contribute to the preparation of research funding proposals.
• Report directly to the group head, Prof. Dr. Alex Biryukov.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, applied mathematics or a related field.
• Proven research track record with publications in A* cryptography or information‑security venues.
• Excellent command of English (minimum C1 level).
