Research Scientist, Network Planning Optimization (Supply Chain)

About the role

We are seeking a Research Scientist to develop advanced scientific solutions that optimise Amazon’s global fulfillment network across regions such as Europe, Japan and India. The role focuses on improving customer experience while reducing cost and carbon emissions through data‑driven network planning.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement optimisation models for multi‑regional fulfillment strategies.
• Collaborate with the worldwide scientific community and internal technical teams to create network flow planning tools.
• Work with business and operational stakeholders to gather requirements and influence strategy.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and visualisation dashboards to support decision‑making.

Required profile

• Strong analytical background with experience in statistical modelling.
• Proven ability to communicate complex ideas to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Experience partnering with data engineers, BI engineers and business teams.
