Remote .NET Developer (Contractor)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced software engineer to work remotely on a contractor basis (10‑12 hours per week). The role involves evaluating and improving real‑world codebases, providing clear technical explanations, and solving backend, full‑stack, systems or infrastructure challenges for next‑generation AI evaluation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse, debug, refactor and document code across diverse technical stacks.
• Design or assess solutions involving APIs, databases, services, integrations, testing and deployment pipelines.
• Identify trade‑offs related to scalability, performance, reliability, security and developer experience.
• Communicate technical reasoning and alternative approaches in written form.
• Collaborate with the client’s team on code reviews, implementation decisions and problem‑solving exercises.
• Rapidly adapt to new codebases, frameworks and requirements.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience.
• Strong experience in at least one backend or full‑stack environment (e.g., C#.NET, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Java, C++, Go, Ruby, PHP).
• Proven ability to read and reason through unfamiliar code and technical specifications.
• Excellent written communication skills for explaining engineering decisions.
