Observability Engineer – Data Platform

About the role

Enovos is seeking an Observability Engineer to design and implement reliable, scalable observability solutions for its data platform and critical pipelines. You will lead the adoption of OpenTelemetry and create reusable standards that empower product and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement observability standards for data pipelines, products, and platform services.
• Drive the progressive adoption of OpenTelemetry for logs, metrics, and traces.
• Work with existing tooling such as ELK/OpenSearch, Fluent Bit, Grafana, and Prometheus.
• Create reusable instrumentation patterns, dashboards, alerting rules, and runbooks.
• Improve detection, diagnosis, and alerting for pipeline incidents, delays, and SLA breaches.
• Correlate telemetry with contextual metadata (pipeline ID, dataset, owner, environment).
• Automate observability onboarding via CI/CD, IaC, and reusable templates.
• Support incident response, root‑cause analysis, and post‑incident improvements.
• Explore AI‑assisted use cases for anomaly detection and alert correlation.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in observability, SRE, platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience with production systems and modern observability concepts.
• Practical knowledge of OpenTelemetry or a strong motivation to lead its adoption.
• Experience with cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Ability to document, standardise, and automate engineering practices.
• Good communication skills in English; French or German a plus.
