Lower School Classroom Teacher (Kindergarten) – 1 Year Contract

About the role

ISL is seeking a passionate Lower School Classroom Teacher for Kindergarten on a one‑year fixed‑term contract. You will create inquiry‑based, concept‑driven learning experiences that inspire curiosity, critical thinking and global awareness in young learners.

Key responsibilities

• Design and facilitate inquiry‑based, concept‑driven, project‑based lessons aligned with the IB PYP.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where every child feels a sense of belonging.
• Communicate effectively with families to build strong learning partnerships.
• Use assessment and feedback intentionally to guide learner progress.
• Build respectful relationships that promote student wellbeing.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary, innovative learning experiences.
• Contribute to the school’s reflective, collaborative professional culture.
• Utilise a Learning Management System to organise resources and support collaboration.
• Participate in pastoral care, parent evenings, community events and beyond‑the‑classroom activities.
• Engage with AI tools responsibly, promoting ethical use to enhance learning.

Required profile

• Demonstrated passion for early childhood education and student‑centred teaching.
• Experience or strong interest in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.
• Commitment to fostering learner agency, voice and ownership.
• Ability to build inclusive, supportive relationships with students, families and staff.
• Willingness to contribute to the school’s wellbeing and pastoral life.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Learning Management System to organise course materials and support collaboration.
