Lead Buyer – Procurement (m/f/d)

About the role

As a Lead Buyer in the Procurement team at KPMG Luxembourg, you will support and develop the procurement function, managing end‑to‑end sourcing and purchasing for assigned categories. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver value through strategic procurement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Propose and develop purchasing strategies for assigned categories.
• Analyse spend allocation, supplier portfolios and identify optimisation opportunities.
• Develop short‑, medium‑ and long‑term action plans, including contract renewals, supplier rationalisation and risk mitigation.
• Define savings targets and identify improvement opportunities.
• Identify, evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost and reliability.
• Lead sourcing activities such as RFPs, RFQs and supplier negotiations.
• Manage purchase orders and monitor delivery performance.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor performance.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare procurement reports and contribute to cost‑control initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and provide guidance on procurement processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics or a related field.
• Several years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, purchasing or supply chain management.
• Experience in supplier sourcing, contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.
• Good understanding of procurement processes, sourcing methodologies and best practices.
• Ability to identify cost‑saving opportunities and drive procurement efficiencies.
• Experience working with procurement systems and ERP tools.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, including advanced Excel capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
