Junior R&D Engineer – Mechanical Design & Prototyping

About the role

Rotarex is seeking a Junior R&D Engineer to join its R&D team in Lintgen, Luxembourg. You will support the development of new gas‑handling products from concept through industrialisation, working side‑by‑side with experienced engineers and gaining hands‑on experience in mechanical design, prototyping, testing and validation.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in product development projects from concept, design and prototyping to testing, validation and industrialisation.
• Create and modify 2D technical drawings and 3D CAD models in line with customer specifications and internal standards.
• Gather technical information (materials, dimensions, tolerances, interfaces) and prepare engineering documentation.
• Perform basic engineering calculations, tolerance analyses and technical evaluations under senior guidance.
• Support prototype manufacturing, coordinate prototype parts and assist in test preparation, execution and data collection.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Purchasing, Product Management, Sales and suppliers throughout the development process.

Required profile

• Junior‑level engineer eager to develop expertise in mechanical design and product development.
• Ability to work in a cross‑functional team and follow engineering standards.

Required skills

• 2D technical drawing creation.
• 3D CAD modelling (mechanical design).
• Prototyping and test support.
• Basic engineering calculations and tolerance analysis.
