R&D System Engineer – Fire Suppression Systems

About the role

As an R&D System Engineer you will lead the development and continuous improvement of innovative fire suppression systems, guiding projects from initial concept through industrialisation and serial production. You will work closely with R&D, Production, Quality, Sales and customers to ensure technical excellence, compliance and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and improve fire suppression systems and mechanical components, creating 2D/3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs and specifications.
• Plan, organise and monitor multiple R&D projects, validating milestones and taking full ownership of cost, quality and deadline objectives.
• Lead preventive and corrective engineering actions, support risk analyses and provide technical expertise to customers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Coordinate product homologation, certification activities and manage engineering data within the ERP system.

Required profile

• Master’s or Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Fluent English; good command of French or German is a plus.
• Strong leadership, project management and stakeholder communication abilities.
• Autonomous, solution‑oriented mindset with high sense of ownership.

Required skills

• Mechanical design, machining processes, stress calculations and fluid mechanics.
• Design of fire protection systems and knowledge of fire protection standards.
• Mechatronics knowledge.
• Proficiency with SIEMENS NX‑X, SIEMENS Teamcenter and general CAD software.
• Experience managing engineering data in an ERP system.
