Financial Accountant

About the role

Cargill is seeking a Financial Accountant to support its global accounting function in Luxembourg. The role focuses on implementing new accounting standards, maintaining global policies, and providing technical accounting education to finance and business teams.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain global accounting policies and design new processes to ensure compliance with emerging standards.
• Conduct training sessions for finance and business teams on technical accounting updates.
• Research and analyze moderately complex accounting issues, new standards, and regulatory changes.
• Lead accounting projects such as impairment analyses, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint‑venture formations.
• Monitor and implement new accounting standards, communicating financial statement impacts to stakeholders and external auditors.
• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, and supporting documentation for audit purposes.
• Collaborate with external auditors on significant accounting issues and support audit committee discussions.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience (typically 3+ years).
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver quality results on time.
• Good proficiency in Excel.
• Additional language skill – French is an advantage.
