Derivatives Risk Oversight Lead

About the role

The Derivatives Risk Oversight Lead will act as the key representative of the Second Line of Defense for our derivatives trading platform. Based in Luxembourg, the role focuses on safeguarding the financial stability of trading operations by independently challenging strategies and validating complex margin models.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Director of Risk in managing market, product, counterparty, margin, collateral, and liquidity risks across spot and derivatives activities.
• Independently monitor risk exposures, escalating breaches of approved limits with emphasis on trading‑related risks.
• Review and validate risk models, challenge product calculations, valuation logic, exposure metrics, and model assumptions.
• Define and periodically review margin methodologies, assessing adequacy of margin and collateral practices.
• Establish counterparty risk frameworks, monitor exposures, and challenge limit utilization and concentration risk.
• Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate resilience of the derivatives portfolio.

Required profile

• Proven experience in risk management for derivatives or similar financial products.
• Strong understanding of market, product, counterparty, margin, collateral, and liquidity risk concepts.
• Ability to independently challenge and validate complex risk models and methodologies.
• Experience designing and overseeing margin and collateral frameworks.
• Comfort working in a fast‑moving, high‑performing team with a focus on ethical standards.
