Automation Engineer – Playwright Test Automation

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain a robust, scalable test automation framework using Playwright. You will work closely with QA engineers, developers, and DevOps teams to embed automated testing into our CI/CD pipelines and raise overall software quality.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts with Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript).
• Build a reusable automation framework adopted across multiple projects.
• Define automation standards, best practices, and reusable components.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.).
• Execute automated tests for web applications, APIs, and integrated systems, including cross‑browser testing.
• Analyse coverage, identify gaps, and provide improvement recommendations.
• Produce structured test reports and quality metrics for QA and IT management.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and QA throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support Agile ceremonies and mentor team members on the automation framework.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Playwright using TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Proven track record designing and implementing scalable automation frameworks.
• Solid understanding of automation design patterns and testing best practices.
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar).
• Deep knowledge of web application testing, API testing, and cross‑browser testing.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative version‑control workflows.
• Ability to evaluate automation coverage, identify gaps, and generate detailed reports.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
