Accountant – Fixed‑term (Maternity Leave Cover)

About the role

Zitro is seeking an Accountant on a fixed‑term contract to cover a maternity leave from September 2026 to September 2027. The role is based in Luxembourg and offers the chance to work in an international, multicultural environment while supporting the finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Process, review and record supplier invoices in the accounting system.
• Prepare and post accrual entries for accurate financial reporting.
• Manage daily bookkeeping of bank transactions and perform reconciliations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments to support business operations.
• Contribute to the monthly financial close, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
• Maintain organized, compliant accounting records and documentation.
• Support the annual external audit by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of monthly VAT returns alongside senior accountants and external advisors.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting or administration department.
• Knowledge of Lux GAAP is a plus.
• Fluent in Spanish and/or English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Required skills

• Business Central ERP (basic knowledge).
• Microsoft Excel (advanced proficiency).
• Familiarity with Lux GAAP accounting standards.
