Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer to design, implement and maintain secure, scalable virtual desktop environments for our users. You will work closely with operations and technical teams to deliver reliable remote desktop experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Define business requirements, prerequisites and detailed project plans, including work packages, workload estimates, validation milestones and dependencies.
• Conduct tests and proof‑of‑concepts in labs, produce high‑level and low‑level designs, operational procedures and run workshops for operations teams.
• Install and configure infrastructure components based on test outcomes, and support post‑installation monitoring, fixes and decommissioning of legacy systems.
• Gather input from stakeholders, report progress to management, coordinate project team activities and ensure clear communication.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure technologies.
• Proven experience with VMware solutions (ESXi, vCenter, Horizon).
• Hands‑on experience with Windows 11 and Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS and Google Cloud.
• Strong understanding of network protocols and desktop‑virtualization infrastructure.
• Experience with security practices for VDI environments.
• Knowledge of Citrix products (XenDesktop, Netscaler, XenApp).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively.
