Steward – Fixed-term Role

About the role

The Steward supports the INNSiDE by Meliá Luxembourg hotel by ensuring all service areas, kitchen equipment and public spaces are kept clean, hygienic and ready for guests. This fixed‑term position is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands‑on work in a fast‑paced hospitality environment and who are committed to high standards of safety and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, wash and store crockery, glassware, trays and kitchen utensils using appropriate detergents and procedures.
• Clean and maintain kitchen appliances such as kettles, ovens, grills, hoods and salamanders, following safety guidelines.
• Perform routine cleaning of floors, walls, doors, furniture and other assigned areas to the highest hygiene standards.
• Empty, clean, sort and replace waste bins throughout the hotel, ensuring proper waste classification.
• Handle all cleaning and transport equipment carefully to avoid accidents, spills or breakages.
• Assist guests by promoting hotel services, handling incidents and escalating unresolved issues to the manager.
• Follow brand philosophy, operational manuals and health‑and‑safety procedures, including use of personal protective equipment.

Required profile

• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and work independently.
• Strong awareness of hygiene, safety and waste‑management practices.
• Good physical stamina for handling cleaning tasks and moving equipment.
• Customer‑focused attitude with the capacity to respond to guest needs promptly.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial dishwashing and cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling and safety procedures.
