Senior/Staff Engineer – Computing Architecture

About the role

Axelera AI is looking for a Senior/Staff Engineer to shape the next generation of AI computing architectures. You will work closely with hardware, software and product teams to define, model and validate high‑performance, low‑power AI accelerator solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and develop computing architectures for AI accelerators.
• Analyze and optimise computational workloads for power efficiency and performance.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and drive architectural innovation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate system requirements into balanced designs.
• Develop simulation and modelling tools to validate designs against target AI workloads.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in computing architecture or system design, preferably in AI, semiconductor or high‑performance computing.
• Proven expertise in AI accelerator designs such as NPUs or GPUs.
• Strong background in architectural modelling, simulation and performance analysis.
• Proficiency in Python or C++ programming.
• Deep understanding of state‑of‑the‑art AI inference workloads.
