Senior Software Engineer – Risk Management Applications

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a key client in Luxembourg. The role focuses on supporting and enhancing risk‑financial applications, particularly those used for derivatives valuation, and requires strong operational and reporting expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Provision, operate, and maintain IT infrastructure and software for risk financial applications.
• Monitor system health, including batch jobs, application servers, and database servers.
• Design, implement, and test batch processes for risk‑financial calculations.
• Develop and improve PowerShell scripts that automate system operationalisation.
• Provide technical support and maintenance for in‑house tools and packages.
• Advise on and set up code versioning using GitHub and/or Azure DevOps.
• Participate in the migration of databases from Sybase to Microsoft SQL Server.
• Support data‑virtualisation and reporting solutions such as Denodo and BusinessObjects.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience supporting risk‑management applications.
• At least 3 years of experience with banking reporting solutions.
• Proven ability to create complex Splunk dashboards for technical and business monitoring.
• 6+ years in similar senior engineering positions.
• Fluent English and able to work on‑site in Luxembourg.
