Senior Mechanical & Thermal Engineer – Space Systems

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical & Thermal Engineer to lead the design and development of cutting‑edge laser communication terminals for space‑to‑ground connectivity. You will work within a small, high‑performing engineering team, influencing hardware decisions from concept through to test and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical and thermal design, modelling and simulation for space and ground hardware.
• Specify and oversee manufacturing, assembly and integration activities.
• Support environmental and functional test campaigns.
• Produce clear, high‑quality technical documentation.
• Collaborate closely with optical, electronic and systems engineers.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong hands‑on experience in mechanical and thermal engineering, preferably in space, aerospace or a highly regulated sector.
• Proficiency with CAD and FEA tools.
• Practical experience in prototyping, manufacturing and assembly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Detail‑oriented, collaborative approach and comfort in a fast‑paced environment.
