Senior Mechanical Engineer – Technical Infrastructure Program Manager

About the role

Amazon is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to act as the Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) for its Global Realty Building Design & Engineering team. Based in Luxembourg, Spain or the UK, you will lead mechanical design, facility and engineering activities across Amazon's European Fulfillment Network, collaborating with sustainability, construction and pre‑construction teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define, document and own mechanical and plumbing engineering design standards for the EU region.
• Maintain the Basis of Design (BOD) for mechanical and plumbing disciplines and track key performance metrics.
• Serve as the subject‑matter expert for mechanical systems, supporting MEP solutions and prototype templates.
• Develop business cases, drive cost‑optimization programs and champion sustainability initiatives.
• Lead pilot projects testing innovative mechanical solutions and approve prototype equipment specifications.
• Manage relationships with third‑party engineering consultants, ensuring quality and cost control.
• Collaborate with internal maintenance teams to maintain commissioning standards.

Required profile

• Senior‑level mechanical engineering experience, preferably within large‑scale fulfillment or industrial facilities.
• Proven ability to lead mechanical design initiatives across multiple countries.
• Experience working cross‑functionally with sustainability, construction and pre‑construction teams.
• Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills.
