Senior Accountant

About the role

Zurich, a global insurance leader, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Finance team in Luxembourg. Reporting to the Accounting and Reporting Supervisor, you will work closely with multiple departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with both local and group standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file financial and regulatory reports, analyse trends, and ensure correct system reporting.
• Maintain and enhance accounting policies, manuals, and local frameworks to meet statutory requirements.
• Analyse financial data, identify inefficiencies, and support improvements to controls and processes.
• Act as a technical reference for accounting and reporting matters within Finance.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities and respond to internal and external audit queries.
• Provide ad‑hoc accounting and finance assistance to operational and business teams.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
• 3–6 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in a regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles; IFRS 17 experience is a plus.
• Experience in the insurance sector (Life & Risk) is an asset.
• Fluent English; additional languages are advantageous.
