Scientific Project Officer – Epidemic Preparedness

About the role

The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is seeking a Scientific Project Officer to support European projects focused on epidemic preparedness, specifically wastewater‑based surveillance and mosquito‑borne disease control. The role involves translating scientific content into clear communication and capacity‑building materials while coordinating with consortium partners and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain day‑to‑day follow‑up of the project, ensuring timely communication with partners and stakeholders.
• Draft and circulate emails to collect updates, share news, and monitor deadlines.
• Prepare project newsletters by gathering scientific updates, drafting content, coordinating reviews, and publishing.
• Assist in organising webinars, workshops, meetings and larger stakeholder events.
• Support knowledge‑transfer activities by helping create scientifically accurate materials and coordinating participant follow‑up.
• Contribute to dissemination through website content, news items, reports and other communication outputs.
• Enhance the project’s social‑media presence by drafting posts and adapting content for various platforms.
• Help prepare deliverables, reports and other communication outputs in collaboration with scientific and coordination teams.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in public health, life sciences, microbiology, infectious disease or a related field.
• Ability to understand and communicate complex scientific and technical information.
• Strong written communication skills in English.
• Experience in project coordination, stakeholder engagement or scientific communication is desirable.
