Scientific Project Officer – Epidemic Preparedness & Capacity Building

About the role

Join the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) as a Scientific Project Officer supporting European projects focused on epidemic preparedness. You will coordinate communication, stakeholder engagement, and capacity‑building activities related to wastewater‑based surveillance and mosquito‑borne disease control.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day follow‑up of the European project, maintaining communication with consortium partners and external stakeholders.
• Draft and send emails to collect updates, share news, follow up on deadlines, and coordinate project activities.
• Prepare project newsletters by gathering scientific updates, drafting clear content, coordinating internal review, and integrating feedback.
• Assist in organising webinars, workshops, meetings and larger stakeholder events.
• Help prepare scientifically sound knowledge‑transfer and capacity‑building materials, coordinating partner inputs and following up with participants.
• Contribute to dissemination of project results through website content, news items, reports and other communication outputs.
• Support social‑media presence by drafting posts, adapting content for different channels and identifying visibility opportunities.
• Assist in the preparation of project deliverables, reports and communication outputs in collaboration with scientific and coordination teams.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in public health, life sciences, microbiology, infectious disease or a related field.
• Ability to understand scientific and technical content and translate it into clear, accurate communication.
• Strong written communication skills in English.
• Experience in coordinating multi‑partner projects or similar stakeholder‑engagement activities is desirable.
