Proto Shop Technician – Prototype Assembly & Test

About the role

The Proto Shop Technician is responsible for assembling and testing prototypes according to engineering requests, ensuring timely delivery and required quality. The position is based at BorgWarner’s Luxembourg Technical Center in Hautcharage.

Key responsibilities

• Receive work requests, BOMs and assembly drawings from the Proto Shop Supervisor.
• Retrieve components from storage while respecting traceability rules.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineer or Tool Designer to realize required tooling.
• Assemble and test components following the Process Control Plan and work instructions.
• Complete Process Control Plan reports and record any deviations.
• Participate in problem‑solving with product, process and quality engineering teams.

Required profile

• Mechanical Bachelor or related field; Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Automation Engineering preferred.
• 2‑5 years experience as a technician, preferably with power‑electronics products in the automotive industry.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and flexible working hours to meet prototype schedules.
• Fluent in English; French is a plus.
