Process Engineer – Blast Furnace Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our blast furnace process department in Luxembourg. You will support internal and external customers throughout the project lifecycle, from initial discussions and process calculations to detailed audits and operational support.

Key responsibilities

• Model and dimension blast furnace processes and equipment.
• Develop new technologies and processes, including alternative direct reduction and energy‑saving solutions.
• Support project teams on technological and process aspects.
• Assist customers in optimizing operation parameters and applying key equipment.
• Commission new blast furnaces and equipment, overseeing both cold and hot commissioning activities.
• Plan and execute special blast furnace operations such as blow‑in, blow‑down, and recoveries.
• Support implementation of new and green technologies for customers.

Required profile

• Master’s or higher technical education in Metallurgy or a related field.
• Professional experience in blast furnace operation.
• Hands‑on experience with cold and hot commissioning activities.
• Fluent English with strong communication skills for customer and project interaction.
• Willingness to work in an international team and travel abroad as needed.
• High initiative, responsibility, and ability to work independently.
