Postdoctoral Researcher in Econometrics

About the role

The University of Luxembourg’s Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to advance research in econometrics, under the supervision of Professor Gautam Tripathi. The position focuses on micro‑econometric theory and applied methodology, contributing to the department’s academic activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct original research in micro‑econometrics, including theoretical and applied projects.
• Develop and apply methodological tools, such as machine‑learning techniques and high‑dimensional models.
• Write and submit articles to peer‑reviewed journals and present findings at conferences.
• Participate in departmental seminars, workshops, and the Empirical Methods Group.
• Assist with teaching duties (1‑3 hours per week) and tutor graduate students.

Required profile

• PhD in Economics (earned within the last five years) with a specialization in micro‑econometrics.
• Strong interest in methodological issues, machine learning, and high‑dimensional statistical models.
• Proven ability to conduct independent post‑doctoral research and collaborate within a team.
• Fluency in English.
