Network & Security Consultant

About the role

Thales is looking for a Network & Security Consultant to act as the technical advisor for customers, gathering requirements and designing secure network solutions. The consultant will support pre‑sales activities, oversee roll‑out phases and provide expert guidance on network security technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the dedicated technical advisor for customers within the consultant’s skill scope.
• Collect technical requirements and propose adapted security solutions.
• Define architecture and contribute to the design of technical solutions.
• Perform advisory and expertise missions, including proof‑of‑concepts and statements of work.
• Support account managers during pre‑sales and tender processes.
• Assist operational teams during rollout and ensure timely delivery of commitments.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of network security best practices, protocols and risk identification.
• Coach junior consultants and trainees, providing technical and soft‑skill development.
• Act as backup for 1st/2nd line support and as 3rd line support for security‑on‑demand services.

Required profile

• Strong technical background in network security with the ability to advise customers.
• Experience in gathering requirements, designing architectures and delivering proof‑of‑concepts.
• Ability to support pre‑sales activities and write technical documentation in French and English.
• Proactive problem‑solving skills and capacity to manage crisis situations.
• Willingness to coach junior staff and share knowledge.

• Firewalls: Checkpoint, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet.
• Web proxies: Bluecoat ProxySG, McAfee Web Gateway.
• Load balancing / WAFF: F5, Netscaler, DenyAll, Imperva.
• Encryption: IPSEC VPN, data encryption.
• Hardware Security Module (HSM).
• Messaging security, sandboxing, strong authentication, SAML federation, OpenID Connect.
