Management Accountant

About the role

Rakuten International is seeking a Management Accountant to join its European finance team. Working closely with the EU Head of Finance and senior finance managers, you will support budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis and reporting across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and submit monthly management accounts, budgets, rolling forecasts and KPIs into the Rakuten BPC consolidation system.
• Coordinate the annual 5‑year budget process and ongoing rolling forecasts using financial modelling.
• Review and analyse monthly management accounts and cost‑centre reports with stakeholders.
• Generate KPI dashboards and analytical insights to drive business performance.
• Enforce budgetary cost‑control measures and evaluate projects using ROI, payback, DCF and other techniques.
• Develop and implement reporting systems and maintain databases for financial and KPI reporting.
• Prepare reports and presentations for senior leaders and communicate performance trends.
• Lead or contribute to projects aimed at improving the management accounting function.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in management accounting or a similar finance role.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning experience.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and communicate financial data to non‑financial stakeholders.
• University degree in a relevant discipline and progress toward a professional accounting qualification.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Financial modelling expertise.
• Experience with BPC (Rakuten consolidation software) or similar ERP tools.
• Knowledge of ROI, payback, DCF and standard costing techniques.
