Librarian Specialist – Medicine & Health Sciences

About the role

The University of Luxembourg seeks a Librarian Specialist with a primary focus on Medicine and Health Sciences. The role supports the Luxembourg Learning Centre (LLC) in delivering research support, information literacy training, and collection development for medical, health, and broader STEM programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage library collections in medicine, health sciences and other STEM fields such as engineering, computer science, life sciences and mathematics.
• Provide expert guidance, research support and information‑literacy training tailored to medical and health sciences programmes and all STEM disciplines.
• Act as liaison between the LLC and university stakeholders (faculty, researchers, students, departments) to support new and expanding programmes.
• Conduct literature searches, systematic reviews and support advanced research and clinical information needs.
• Create and maintain subject guides, web pages, bibliographies and thematic selections, keeping collections up‑to‑date with fast‑moving developments.
• Implement and promote digital tools, databases and electronic resources in line with university standards and best practices.
• Define, lead and continuously enhance standards, methodologies and frameworks for information management, literature searching and use of medical and scientific resources.
• Provide personalised support on clinical decision tools, AI tools, plagiarism prevention and ethical use of documentary resources.
