Investment Analyst Trainee (5‑month program)

About the role

The European Investment Fund is looking for a motivated trainee to join its Alternative Lenders, Skills & Education Unit in Luxembourg. Over a five‑month period, you will support the development and coordination of a transaction database that underpins micro‑finance, alternative lending, and fintech investments.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in gathering, validating and entering transaction data into the central database.
• Support the coordination of database inputs across multiple loan portfolios.
• Contribute to the tracking of project deliverables and timelines.
• Help analyse data to improve the quality and usability of the database.

Required profile

• University degree or final‑year master’s student in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Law or a related field.
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional EU language is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, manage time under pressure and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
